Passengers transported - the number of passengers transported over a certain period of time. It is recorded by types of transport and communications. The unit of observation in statistics is the number of transported passengers. The moment of recording of dispatched passengers is established differently for individual types of transport: either from the start of ticket purchase (on rail, automobile, urban electric transport), or from the moment of departure of the vehicle (on water and air transport). The formation of the indicator “passengers transported” is based on the recommendations of international statistical organizations, Eurostat, the CIS Statistical Committee and the definition of the System of National Accounts.
