Calculation methodology (briefly)
Passenger turnover is an indicator characterizing the volume of passenger transportation taking into account the distance over which the passenger is transported. It is determined by summing the products of the number of passengers for each item of transportation by its distance. The unit of measurement is the passenger-kilometer, i.e. the movement of a passenger over a distance of 1 km. Formation of the indicator “passenger turnover by type of transport” is based on the recommendations of international statistical organizations, the CIS Statistical Committee and the definition of the System of National Accounts.
